Join us for our first meeting of 2025! Starting April 16, our regular monthly meetings resume on the third Wednesday of each month through October. These meetings are free and open to the public!
Topic: Murdering Town
Presented By: Tom Nesbitt (Zelienople Historical Society)
Date/Time: April 16, 2025 - 7:00 PM
Location: Jennings Environmental Education Center
Description: Back in 1753, George Washington traveled through our area and camped along the Connoquenessing Creek in a village called "Murdering Town." But where was it, and why was it given such an ominous name? At our first meeting of the year, Tom Nesbitt - a local historian from the Zelienople Historical Society - will share with us the story of this journey and, using new documentation on several Indian villages in the area, discuss possible locations of Murdering Town.
