Description: Beginning near Pittsburgh and winding its way 150 miles north to Erie, PA, Route 8 passes near an amazing number of historic sites. From prehistoric glaciers to space age storage vaults, this road has connections to every era of American History. Take a drive through history with Forbes, Perry, Drake, and Earhart and visit actual places that were part of their stories.
About the Presenter: Steve Cicero is a former history instructor in the Butler Area School District. He is active with a number of historical organizations in Western PA as a part time teacher or volunteer, as well as several retired educator groups. In addition, he is always looking for ways to promote local history and historical sites through presentations and tours.
